Carpet Cleaning
Jobs
You would be surprised at the number of people who are
attempting to get into the business by finding carpet cleaning
jobs.
With some effort anyone physically able should be able to
find work by going to large local carpet cleaning contractors.
This sometimes is a good first step for going into the carpet
cleaning business for yourself. I know many young men feel this
is the correct way to learn the trade.
I'd like to point out the downside to working for some large
contractor. While you can gain experience you will only be
exposed to whatever type of cleaning system the contractor
uses. Since the majority of large franchise operations and
contractors use hot water extraction, this will be all you will
learn. The simple truth of the matter is that hot water
extraction using a truckmount machine is also the easiest means
of carpet cleaning from the contractor's point of view.
The key to success in starting your own business is claiming
a niche in carpet cleaning such as "green cleaning", "all
natural", or "low moisture" cleaning. This you won't learn from
any large company. So if you are looking for carpet cleaning
jobs, seek out small contractors that might need a helper.
You'll make less money but you'll learn more of the trade in
most circumstances.
I always suggest puchasing some basic
carpet cleaning equipment and doing research and then
practicing on anyone and everyone you know. You will be amazed
at the fine instruction available right on the web if you know
where to look. Of course I include this info in the carpet
cleaning business plan.
When you start in business for yourself, your first
challenge is finding carpet cleaning jobs for your business.
Again, most newbies are surprised to learn of the many ways to
reach prospective customers without spending much money at
all.
